Nenad Zimonjic, the former coach of the Davis Cup team of Serbia, has been with the Serbian players at the Belgrade Open tournament since the first day.

In today’s final, they will support Medjedovic against Shapovalov. In the Serbian semi-final, Hamad defeated Laslo Djere with 2:1.
“Great organization, Djordje Djokovic and his team showed the experience gained from the previous tournaments they organized and that certainly contributed to this tournament. For the first time, we saw two courts in the Arena, everything is well arranged, and on the other hand, this is a great opportunity for our tennis players, which they made the most of,” said Zimonjic.

Zimonjic also praised the performance of the Serbian players.
“Hamad is in the finals, and Djere reached the semi-finals and they managed to finish their season in a positive way, which was not very good for them”.

However, Zimonjic gives the Canadian a little better chance before today’s final.
“The favorite is Shapovalov, but everything is possible because it is the final. Denis didn’t win many tournaments either, and this is Hamad’s first final, he will play in front of the home crowd, he will have a lot of support, and he is young, he will recover tomorrow by 3 pm after an extremely difficult match against Djere”.

Zimonjic also reflected on what awaits him in the coming period.

“I’m looking for an engagement as a coach, now I can travel a little more, so that’s something I would like,” he explained.
