Dusan Lajovic has recovered from the injury sustained at the Davis Cup and is ready to play in front of the Belgrade fans.
“I played two tournaments before this, I had four weeks of recovery. I’m not 100% ready yet, but that’s enough time to play. This is my last tournament this year, so I will try to give my best”, Lajovic said.
In the first round, the Serbian plays against Portugal’s Borges.
“Once I played with Borges on clay and I lost that match. I think this is a good draw for me in the first round. Every opponent is difficult for me now, but when I got injured, I didn’t even expect to play this season. This is now all a bonus for me and I am glad to play in front of the Belgrade fans.
Lajovic also referred to the organization itself and the arrival of the cream of the crop of international tennis to Belgrade.
“Djordje Djokovic has organized tournaments brilliantly so far, and I know that this tournament will be the best in the 250 category. I hope that the fans will come in large numbers, because we have quality players. Some are in the Top 10, and this is a unique opportunity to see such players,” Lajovic noted.
