Miomir Kecmanovic finished today’s workout in a good mood, and tomorrow he will have his first match at the Belgrade Open tournament. The Serbian standout will play against Australia’s Christopher O’Connell, whom he has already beaten once.
Kecmanovic also talked about the special motivation when playing in front of the Belgrade fans, and as he pointed out – he hopes that the Belgrade Arena will be packed with tennis lovers in the next seven days.
“It’s always nice when you play at home. Your friends and family come to cheer you on, as do all our tennis-loving people, and then it’s a nice experience. I can’t wait to start playing, I hope to stay in the tournament as long as possible”, said Kecmanovic.
The Serbian also reflected on the appearance of the Arena, which received a new look.
“The Arena looks phenomenal. I was pleasantly surprised how they arranged it inside. Even before, the organizers tried to make everything up to the highest standards, when the tournament was played in Dorcol. Kudos to the organizers and how they did all this.”
At the end of the season, players usually lose a little motivation, however, this is not the case with Kecmanovic.
“If the tournament wasn’t held in Belgrade, I would perhaps be not so motivated. This way, when playing at home, everything is great. I can’t wait for the match, I’m motivated to stay in the tournament as long as possible. Although Nole is not there, I really hope that the fans will come in large numbers and support all the local players,” Kecmanovic concluded.
