Hamad Medjedovic reached the semi-finals of the Belgrade Open tournament more easily than he expected. His great friend, Laslo Djere, is waiting for him there.
The Serbian duel in the Arena will not start before 3:00 p.m., and before those two, Shapovalov from Canada and Lehecka from the Czech Republic will meet.
Medjedovic needed only one hour and 13 minutes to reach the semi-finals, while Djere stayed five minutes shorter on the field.
“Honestly, the feeling is wonderful after this victory. I’m playing very well, I’m at a high level. It’s even better when I’m at home. The previous two times it wasn’t so good, but now I enjoy every match,” said Hamad Medjedovic.
Are you satisfied with your performance in these three matches?
“I worked hard. Before, I couldn’t find my level, but now it’s different. It means even more to me that I am at home and playing in front of my people”.
You had some good matches this season, one of them was against Medvedev in Rome?
“It happened to me a couple of times to show some flashes, only to retreat and fall asleep. I know I should improve. I work hard every day.”
What are the plans for after this tournament?
“I am going to Spain for a training camp and I hope that everything will change in a positive sense next year”.
You played very well against Cerundolo, there was no question as to who would win?
“Honestly, I don’t know, these are good players, Cerundolo is 29th in the world. Against such names I have to be alert from the first to the last point. If you falter, they beat you right away. Concentration, consistency, that’s the key,” Medjedovic explained.
