Novak also talked about founding his own tennis academy, which is yet to be officially opened.
“My plan is to create my own concept for the academy, it has been in the works since December, when some of our and foreign players were there. We are testing the methodology and philosophy of our work and approach. My concept will be different, if compared to other academies. The focus will be on quality, there will be no franchises. I want the professional staff that surrounds me to be present in the academy, and Viktor Troicki, who is also the captain of Serbia Davis Cup team, is helping us. I try to gather experts from Serbia and the world and create a concept that is unique, in order to convey my experience that helped me become who I am. We still don’t know when we will officially announce the opening of the academy, some tournaments have taken priority in the meantime, and renovation is being done at the same time. We want to expand and have more courts. Several factors play a role here, and it doesn’t all depend on us. We want to have a license for many years to come, for the tournament to become a tradition, and we will develop the academy simultaneously”, said Novak.
