Belgrade Open 2024 promises really exciting innovations, setting itself apart from previous tournaments held in Belgrade and Banja Luka. Unlike the past seven ATP and WTA tournaments, which took place on outdoor courts, this year’s event will be held indoors at the Belgrade Arena, and it will be played on hard courts, adding a new level of excitement. From November 2nd to 9th, the Arena will transform into a “new home of tennis,” serving as the epicenter of tennis action and offering players and fans an unforgettable experience.

To meet all ATP standards, the Belgrade Arena complex will undergo a series of major and fascinating changes.

The central area of the Arena, where the playing courts will be located, will be fully adapted to the tournament’s needs. It will feature two professional tennis courts with hard surfaces: a Central Court and a Grandstand Court, allowing for dynamic and parallel matches. The courts will be made from the highest quality materials, comparable to those used at prestigious tournaments like the US Open.

Organizers have thought of every detail, as shown by the addition of a specially constructed wall between the two courts. This wall will significantly reduce noise distractions between the courts, allowing players to focus better during their matches. Meanwhile, spectators will enjoy an enhanced atmosphere, as the Arena’s acoustics will be utilized to its full potential. This separation of courts will provide not only necessary functionality but also a visual spectacle for the audience, who will see the Belgrade Arena in this form for the first time, at least when it comes to tennis.

Beyond the central area, other sections of the Arena will also be transformed to suit the needs of players and visitors. The ground floor will be equipped and strategically divided to meet all players’ needs, offering easy access to the courts, warm-up rooms, and media center. Essential services such as racket stringing and training court bookings will be conveniently within reach. The upper floor will be dedicated to player relaxation and entertainment between matches, providing them with privacy and comfort after hours spent on the court.

Equal attention has also been given to the tournament visitors, as this year the Belgrade Arena will feature not one, but two FAN zones—one at the northern entrance and the other at the southern entrance. The organizers have prepared numerous activities and surprises that have never been seen before in the Belgrade Arena, allowing visitors to enjoy interactive experiences alongside watching top-level matches. More information about these offerings will be announced soon, guaranteeing that the FAN zones will further enhance the dynamic and entertaining atmosphere throughout the tournament.

The area outside the Arena will also be tailored to players’ needs. Training courts will be set up outdoors in a covered and fenced space of 1600 m². Although located outside, these courts will offer all the necessary conditions for proper training and preparation before matches.

As tennis in Serbia has grown, Belgrade Arena has evolved into a temple of Serbian tennis. It was in this iconic venue that Serbia’s Davis Cup team lifted the coveted trophy in 2010. Over the years, numerous Davis and Fed Cup matches have been held here, but this year’s Belgrade Open promises to deliver an entirely new and extraordinary tennis experience for fans in this legendary venue.

With some of the biggest names in the world of tennis set to showcase their best moves in the heart of the capital, one thing is certain—Belgrade Open will once again place Serbia and its capital on the world tennis map. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this sporting spectacle!
