The former coach of the best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, Marian Vajda, held an open workout session with Luna Vujovic and Dusica Popovski on the courts of the Belgrade Open tournament. Two talented tennis players, who last year in the under-14 competition together won the European silver at the winter and summer European Team Championships, played, for the first time in history, in the final of the European Singles Championship and overshadowed everyone at Wimbledon, Luna with the crown, and Dušica with the semi-final.
“You have no reason to worry about the future of women’s tennis” is Mariana Vajda’s first assessment
“These two girls I saw are great. I wish I had a serve like Luna now at the age of 14″.
This should be just the beginning of successful cooperation between the tennis federations of two countries, Serbia and Slovakia.
“The Tennis Federation of Serbia has a great base in terms of the number of tournaments where players can collect points for the ATP and WTA lists, but the only thing missing is the National Training Center. We in Slovakia have a center, but we don’t have that many tournaments. I hope for cooperation to mutual satisfaction,” said Marian Vajda.
