Hungarian tennis player Fabian Maroszan managed to defeat local favorite Dusan Lajovic in two sets and thus reach the quarterfinals of the Belgrade Open.

Last year, Maroszan defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the round of 16 of the ATP tournament in Rome, and this year at the tournament in Miami, he defeated two Top 10 players, Holger Rune and Alex de Minor.

He performed great once again and appear in the second quarter-final this season.

Currently, the 59th player on the ATP list will try to reach the semi-finals of the tournament in Belgrade, and his opponent will the winner of the duel Laslo Djere-Duje Ajdukovic.

“I am satisfied with the victory, although it is not easy to play against a local tennis player in his city. However, the audience was super correct,” said Maroszan.

He also stated that he likes Belgrade, and praised the organization of the tournament. “I am in Belgrade for the first time. I like the city very much. The hall is also beautiful. The organization is perfect, everything is great, starting with the hotel, the training court and the main court where the matches are played,” said Maroszan.
