The qualifying matches on the first day of the Belgrade Open tournament started with a minute of silence for the Day of Mourning, declared after the accident in Novi Sad. During the Day of Mourning, there will be no music in the hall, and there will be no leisure activities.

The tournament was opened by the Serbian tennis player Marko Maksimovic, who played on the Central Court with the Argentinian Thiago Tirante, while on the Grandstand, Yannick Hanfmann and Lukas Klein squared off.
